Puppy Preschool

The Cleveland Veterinary Clinic puts a strong emphasis on keeping your pets happy, content and improving their relationship with their owners. Our experienced pet trainer, Sandy Macphail, has created puppy training classes that are a lot of fun for pets and clients and ensure you raise a happy, well-adjusted and non-aggressive dog, that has good manners and are a pleasure to be around.

Every year thousands of dogs are put down or abandoned because of obedience and behavioural problems. This is because puppies aren't trained from an early age so unwanted habits or behavioural attributes are formed.

It is much easier to teach your puppy when they are young and impressionable and the more experiences you have the less developmental problems will occur later in life. By socialising them with other dogs and people they can learn good skills of interaction and begin to form a basis for later training. Our puppy pre-school class is held at the clinic, offering a safe and controlled environment free of some of the dangers that can occur in many other dog-friendly public places.

Puppy classes are also geared to teach the pet's owner, allowing them to bond closer with their puppy and also teaching them the best ways to train and care for their animal. They will also learn the basics of positive reinforcement, which will begin them on the road to training and obeying commands.
